:toast:Champions League 2nd round this week starting Tuesday night.:toast:
Something I noticed about most of the teams playing over Tuesday
and Wednesday is that very few of them actually won in the league
this weekend so their focus must have been on these games.
Atletico Madrid host Porto in Spain. Atletico are really in bad
form at the moment, while Porto have won 3 of their last 5 away
from home, however this is going to be a tough one for them. I
think this will be a welcome game for Atletico, not being in
La Liga. They've lost 3 of their last 4 home games but in this
one I can see them winning.
Verdict: Atletico @ 2.12
Inter host Man Utd in Italy. Man Utd must travel to the San Siro
short of quite a few defenders. Vidic suspended, Evans and Oshea
are to have fitness tests and they are without Neville, Brown and
Rafael. Inter have virtually a full side and if Man Utd fail to
deal with Ibrahimovich then they are going to lose this game. The
one bit of information which is on their side is that Ibrahimovich
has never scored in the knockout section of the Champions League.
It is hard to see Man Utd losing after their current run of form.
Verdict: Draw @ 3.20
Arsenal host Roma at the Emirates. A side who cannot get a goal
at home anymore which is really surprising considering who they
have in attack. 0-0 three times in a row and they've already had
one against Galatasaray there this season as well. Roma have vastly
improved as the season has gone on, however, I think Arsenal will
win this game. I always say going away in Europe is tough and I think
Arsenal will win this 2-0 or 2-1.
Verdict: Arsenal win @ 2.06
Lyon v Barcelona - Barcelona have suddenly drawn and lost in their
last two Spanish Primera games which really is a surprise considering
how well they've been playing lately - easily the best in Europe.
They're both top of their respective leagues and Lyon are arguably
in the better form at the moment. I think this one will be a draw.
Verdict: Draw @ 3.40
